Thank you for sharing this dance. I will resist writing an essay about 2020, the year that shook every nation, every family, every institution and every church. I am so thankful to be part of this nation, to be part of my family, and to have been a part of this church. We have needed and continue to need one another.
Michele and I have sought to be a blessing and to be blessed, to share in ministry and life. I am confident that the Lord has surprising things ahead for Ashfield Baptist, and we continue to pray for the appointment of your future pastor.
Sometimes in the quiet place, when I am drawn to pray for friends, for family, for brothers and sisters who are hard pressed, the words that come to mind without hesitation are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. To be filled with these pure and holy treasures, is to be filled with the very presence of God. May you each one, and this church be so filled.
