This Sunday we start a new series in Psalms, possibly in person depending on the latest government guidance, but we will let you know more about that later this week when we know mored details. Here’s a bit of an overview of that series to get you excited!
The Psalms release us into honesty; they give voice to the depth of our joy, our sorrow, our frustration, our anger, and they lead us towards praise, thankfulness, and a renewed dependance on God. The Psalms release us to bring the whole of life before our Heavenly Father. In return, the Psalms hold out an invitation to us. They invite us to hear and acknowledge how those who have gone before us prayed and worshipped, but also invite us to recognise these are now God’s word to us, for us. We are to be shaped by God at work through them. In this seven week series, we will explore seven different Psalms, examining what they encourage us to bring before God and then listening to their invitation to us in return. The Psalms speak honestly into our day to day, if we let them, they will shape and form us, but perhaps what we need to hear again is that they also invite us to be honest to God.
God Bless
