Receiving news of an extension to restrictions related to COVID-19 may leave you feeling a range of emotions. Whilst some may cope reasonably well with changes like this, for many of us it can feel quite unsettling. Into this uncertainty, God invites us to come to Him, to be honest with Him about every emotion. More than this, God, by the presence of the Holy Spirit, has promised to be with us. This simple truth is extraordinarily powerful, life changing even.
This Sunday we will be back on Zoom again for our weekly gathering. Here is the link for that again. We will be starting a new series together, entitled Honest to God, where we’ll explore seven Psalms and their invitiation to be Honest to God.
In the light of this new series, may I invite you to take a few words from Psalm 42 into the rest of your day, perhaps the rest of your week. As and when you remember them, I encourage you to recite them in your mind or under your breath. I pray you would be shaped by the reality they desribe as you love, serve and look out for those around you.
“God is our refuge and strength,
