For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
Proverbs 2:6
The world, and in particular our society, has a thirst for knowledge, but like the development of powerful explosives, knowledge poorly applied can be damaging. Wisdom teaches us how to apply knowledge and wisdom comes from God. The book of proverbs is full of short, practical words of wisdom, but sometimes that wisdom can be unclear, or difficult to understand, and so it requires exploration. This five week series provides an opportunity to examine the wisdom of a small selection of proverbs, to ask questions about when they apply, and when they don’t, and then to allow that wisdom to examine our own lives. Proverbs 2:4 invites us to search for wisdom as if it were hidden treasure, I believe God’s desire is not just that we would find it, but that when we do it would become wisdom applied.
