Ashfield Blessing Box is a community food pantry open to the public 24/7 on the grounds of Ashfield Baptist Church at 19 Holden St Ashfield. We set it up during the height of the pandemic in May 2020 using a repurposed cupboard with the aim to help provide food security to those in need around us. In May 2022 we installed a new Blessing Box with an outdoor fridge and shelving space to accommodate larger donations of bread and fresh food. On Thursday 15th December 2022, we received a Certificate of Recognition from Summer Hill Community for the Blessing Box project. To find out more about this award, click here.
Nerida and Charity accepted the award on behalf of our church.
Our mission is to provide free food on a daily basis through our volunteers who clean and stock the Blessing Box with basic food staples, and we also encourage local community members and businesses to share their excess and reduce food wastage so that others may benefit through their generosity.
Our motto is “Take what you need, give what you can”
We hope that through the Ashfield Blessing Box you will find what you need to help you through this time but most importantly know that you are not alone and we are here for you. If you need further support or would like to donate some items please fill out the form below. Stay safe!
